Ajax is a charming town in the Greater Toronto Area with easy access to the Lakeshore East Line and nearby bus lines. Families will appreciate the proximity of schools and daycares, as well as the convenience of grocery stores and dining options within walking distance. The town is known for its new and well-maintained single detached homes and townhouses, perfect for those looking to settle in a quiet and family-friendly neighborhood. While green spaces may be a bit of a distance, Ajax offers a serene and peaceful atmosphere with low levels of traffic noise. With a variety of housing options and convenient amenities, Ajax is a great place to call home.

Ajax offers a slower-paced ambience. The noise levels in Ajax are especially low, as the streets are generally very tranquil. Parks aren't well-located, making it very difficult to reach them. Still, there are over 200 green spaces nearby for residents to explore, including Greenwood Conservation Area and Diana Princess of Wales Park.

The homes in this town are relatively new, since around 40% of its buildings were built after the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. In this part of Durham Region, roughly two thirds of dwellings are single detached homes, and the rest of the dwellings are mainly large apartment buildings. Homeowners occupy around 85% of the units in the town and 15% are rented. This town is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.

It is a short stroll to access daycares and primary schools from most homes for sale in Ajax. However, parents may consider it challenging for their kids to get to high schools without a car. Regarding food, the nearest supermarket in Ajax is usually only a rather short walk away. Additionally, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and a small selection of coffee shops can be found as well.

Travelling by car is convenient in Ajax. It is easy to park. In contrast, Ajax is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, there is the Ajax on the Lakeshore East. The town is connected by approximately 20 bus lines, and bus stops are generally very close by. Ajax is not particularly well-suited for those who travel by walking since running daily errands is occasionally challenging without a car. On the other hand, this town is moderately cycling-friendly.
